Have you ever dreamed of getting away from it all? Going to a place where you can do whatever you like with no pressure of work or the internet or annoying people? While that is hard to achieve in our world, you can easily find it in this virtual one. Take a trip to Animal Crossing: New Leaf for relaxation and fun galore.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the latest installment in Nintendo’s Animal Crossing series, this time for the 3DS. The graphics are amazing and there are a ton of new features to keep avid fans supplied with plenty of new things to do. Best of all? You are totally in charge. Your citizens appoint you the mayor when you arrive in your town, so instead of running errands for Tom Nook, you get your own desk in the town hall and everyone knows your name. Change the town flag and tune and decide what public works projects you want to undertake to make your town just what you want it to be.
Another cool element of Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s gameplay is how closely it is tied to the clock and the seasons. You can fish, catch bugs, and explore to your heart’s content year-round, but you will find different specimens and special events appearing in your town every day.
Also, your town will gradually expand as you keep playing. New animals will move in (and out), shops will get bigger and new ones will be constructed, your own house can expand (once you pay off your loan to Tom Nook, of course)… There is more to explore each time you turn on the game. This is especially true if you can round up a few friends to play with you. We won’t spoil all the new features, but let’s just say that playing multi-player mini-games on the new island is a fun way to spend an afternoon.
If you can’t get away from it all in real life, do yourself a favor and do so in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It is a fun, relaxing video game that will keep you coming back day after day and year after year. You can check out the game’s official website here (with links to purchase) or pick New Leaf up on the Nintendo eShop. Happy gaming!
